Spring at Westward Look

When you arrive at beautiful Westward Look Resort for your escape from the cold, you'll love all of the new programs we've rolled out for Spring 2010. Our new Cooking with the Chef program allows visitors to experience the beauty and awe of the plant life at the resort while also seeing firsthand the luscious produce freshly grown in our onsite Chef's garden. Attendees will learn how to pick the ripest ingredients... then take your harvest to the GOLD terrace for a cooking class and demonstration. You will have a personal table equipped with cutting boards and burners to create a perfect sauce. You'll learn how to grill meat and veggies to perfection, make magnificent marinades, and other great cooking techniques. The class includes an entrée and dessert to enjoy, plus each guest will receive a binder filled with the recipe series and notes for the day. Our next class is Saturday, February 27, but if you can't make this one, Cooking with the Chef will be held monthly. Check the website for the schedule!

Ever wondered how some desert gardens look so lush and beautiful, while your garden perhaps feels a bit sparse? Let Westward Look help you create your own backyard oasis. Our Desert Landscape School will teach you about xeriscaping, a style of landscaping that incorporates design principles and plants that conserve water, generally utilizing plants that are native to the area. Our very own resort is a perfect example of xeriscaping. The classes are hosted by our very own resort gardening guru, Raymundo Ocampo. If you're passionate about plants, this is a must! The class costs $15 per person and includes a take-home workbook.
