A Taste of Washington Wine Country
February Winemaker’s Dinner to feature Washington’s Mercer Estates Vineyard
Tucson, AZ (2/4/09) – This February, Westward Look Resort is transporting guests’ palates to the Southeastern area of Washington State for its monthly Winemaker’s Dinner. New vineyard Mercer Estates will be highlighted during the evening event set for Thursday, February 19, starting at 6 pm.
The Winemaker’s Dinner will take place in the newly unveiled GOLD restaurant at Westward Look Resort. The four-course dinner begins at 6 pm with a hors d’oeuvres reception at 6 pm on the GOLD terrace. The sounds of Spanish guitar by Gabriel Romo will add to the atmosphere during dinner.
Mercer Estates is a new family-owned winery based in Prosser, Washington. It is a venture between Mike Hogue, of award-winning Hogue Cellars, and Bud Mercer, a longtime Prosser farmer whose family planted Mercer Ranch Vineyards in the early 1970s.
Mercer Estates presently offers six wines: Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, sourced from three American Viticulture Areas: Horse Heaven Hills, Yakima Valley and Columbia Valley. In the coming vintages, Mercer Estates wines will be estate-grown, bottled and produced.
Due to limited seating, reservations are required. The cost is $85 per person plus tax and gratuity. Please call GOLD at 520-917-2930 to make your reservation.
