Westward Look Is Tucson

Resort creates new Volunteer Committee to give back to community

 

Tucson, AZ (6/5/09) - At Westward Look Resort one common thread among employees is to give back to the community where we live, work and play. The overall goal in giving is to support efforts that positively affect our local Tucson community. Now, a newly created Volunteer Committee is selecting deserving community organizations each month to lend a helping hand.

Currently in June, Westward Look Resort is in the midst of a clothing drive. Clothing will then be collected at Westward Look Resort and distributed to three local non-profit organizations in need: Casa de los Niños, Winona's Closet, and Primavera Foundation. The clothes are given to needy children, families and adults.

In May, the Volunteer Committee hosted a bake sale in support of the Southern Arizona Humane Society. During the Bake Sale, the committee auctioned off a pet stroller to add to the total funds raised. A crowd of over 100 helped Westward Look raise over $400, which was donated directly to the Humane Society.

In an effort to help those in need, as well as to keep the community "green," slightly used shampoos, lotions and conditioners are collected from resort rooms and then distributed to the Primavera Foundation in Tucson.
