In 2008, Westward Look Resort welcomed new Executive Chef James Wallace to its award-winning property. A native of Oregon, Wallace was classically trained at Horst Mager Culinary Institute in Portland (now Western Culinary Institute) and spent the next two decades at resorts and restaurants across the globe.
Wallace has used his culinary creativity to produce captivating new menus for the resort’s two dining venues, GOLD and Lookout Bar & Grille. GOLD restaurant has received many accolades in Tucson for its contemporary American cuisine with a touch of desert-inspired flavor. “I am amazed by Westward Look’s local nature and wildlife – it’s inspiring. It gives me the ability to explore different ingredients to create the freshest and most delicious combinations of food,” said Chef Wallace.
Look for Chef Wallace at local farmers markets, or catch him at the resort’s chef’s garden, where his culinary inspirations begin.
GOLD, formerly Gold Room, has received national acclaim, including:
- AAA Four-Diamond Dining Award
