Water Aerobics *NEW*

We are excited to be offering Water Aerobics on Sunday mornings from 10am to 11am. The class is instructed by Timmery, she also works the desk in the Pro Shop. Some facts about water aerobics: low impact on the joints, burns calories, increases the metabolism and can improve flexibility, core strength and blood circulation. For members the class fee is $5, we look forward to seeing you in the pool Sunday mornings!

Fun & Fit Walk *NEW*

Fun & Fit Walk is a free power walk that we have added to our offerings for members. This walk is led by Rebecca and to start we are having it on Sunday mornings from 10am to 10:45am. The benefits of consistently walking prevents major health conditions such as: heart disease and high blood pressure. In addition, it can boost your mood, improve balance and strengthen muscles and bones. Power walking is a low impact workout. Join the walking movement!!

Tennis anyone? Framed by breathtaking mountain views, our Tucson tennis resort offers play on eight championship tennis courts with synthetic turf, composite and asphalt surfaces. Fancy a night game? Five courts are lit for night play. Players of all abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate in our ongoing round robins, leagues, match play and clinics. We’ll even find you a friendly challenger with our player matching service, where local members and resort guests can always find a game with someone of similar skill level. Adult and junior programs are available.

Hiking & Biking

Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa is right in the heart of prime country for hiking and mountain biking. Set in the desert foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains, you can choose from short, easy strolls to challenging mountain climbing, all conveniently nearby during your Tucson vacation. Whether you prefer winding along a gentle trail in the lowlands or challenging your thighs and lungs on steep forest trails, our staff can direct you to a hike or bike adventure that suits you. Stop by our Fitness Center or Pro Shop for trail maps, backpacks, snacks, and information. For bike rentals, please stop by the Front Desk.

Bike Rental
Our 80-acre resort and many nearby areas offer exciting mountain biking opportunities. We offer five Giant Revel Mountain Bikes available for rent to our guests. We offer one small, two medium and two large bikes. They feature a durable, lightweight aluminum frame and offer a stable, comfortable ride. To take advantage of a guided biking tour, or simply to set out on your own for a while on two wheels, please stop by our Front Desk for bike rentals. Bike Rentals available through the Front Desk.

On-Property Trails
Hummingbird Trail The Hummingbird Trail is a 2/3 mile (round trip) paved pathway with picnic ramadas, benches, plant identification signs and interpretive displays. This nature trail begins near the Sonoran Spa where cottontail rabbits often feed on the grass, and you’ll see and hear many desert birds as you walk along. Look among the bushes and cacti for their nests.

Saguaro Trail
The Saguaro Trail is a 2/3 mile unpaved loop through beautiful desert terrain. This nature trail is divided into two shorter sections – the Coyote Loop and the Javelina Loop. You may notice tracks of rabbit, raccoon, coyote, roadrunner and other desert animals along the trail.

Specialty Gardens

Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa is an 80-acre botanical garden. More than 240 plant species are identified around the grounds. Many are native to this region or similar arid environments around the world. We also have four specialty gardens:

Chef’s Garden
This organic garden provides a bountiful harvest of ingredients that have been grown in the Southwest for centuries.

Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden
This colorful and fragrant garden attracts desert pollinators with a variety of seasonal blooms. It’s located in the grassy area near the lower pool.

Wellness Garden
This garden showcases native botanicals like sage, jojoba and aloe, which are used in our desert-inspired spa treatments. It’s adjacent to the Sonoran Spa.

Herb Garden
This fragrant tumble of herbs is on a slope just off the GOLD terrace. Lush green rosemary and other herbs are accented with colorful chilies and edible flower.

Horseback Riding

Nothing is as authentically Western as a horseback ride through desert terrain. Saddle up for a horseback ride and experience our lush 80 acres of distinctive desert flora and fauna or a stunning sunset during a guided trail ride. Suitable for children seven years and older as well as adults, our on-site walk-only trail rides require no prior experience. Our expert wranglers are happy to show you the ropes of riding and controlling your horse.

1 Hour Ride
Ride a Sonoran Desert nature trail where wildlife is often spotted. Twist and turn through the desert flora and fauna with many species of cacti, birds and animals, and enjoying the panoramic mountain views.
$43 per person.

1.5 Hour Ride
Saddle up and explore trails that wind their way through desert trees and cacti against the backdrop of spectacular mountain views and the sweeping Tucson valley. The area is abundant with wildlife – a coyote, javelina or hawk may just be around any turn in the trail!

Sunset Ride
Become entranced by the colorful and amazing desert sunsets while riding under the wide open Arizona sky. Wildlife can often be seen along our trails that wind though Sonoran Desert, offering a special look at the desert at dusk!

Lead Line Rides
Lead Line rides allow children ages 5 or 6 to enjoy a 15-minute horseback ride while an adult walks alongside, controlling the reins and leading the horse.

$28 for 15 minutes.
